How Our After-School Programs Support Working Parents

At Johnethel School, our after-school program exists to give you peace of mind while ensuring your child is in a safe, supervised, and engaging environment until you arrive.

What Happens After School?

Our after-school program runs from the end of the school day until the evening, giving working parents a reliable and consistent arrangement. During this time, children are supervised by staff and given the opportunity to complete homework, rest, and engage in light activities.

It is not simply a waiting room. We structure the time thoughtfully so children are not bored or unsettled, but are winding down from the school day in a calm and supportive way.

Homework Support

One of the biggest benefits parents tell us they appreciate is the homework support. Children complete assignments while still in the school environment, under the guidance of staff who can help when they are stuck. By the time your child gets home, the homework is done — which means evenings can be about family time rather than battles over exercise books.

A Consistent, Familiar Environment

Children do well when they feel safe and settled. Staying at school after hours, in a familiar place with familiar faces, is far less disruptive than being shuttled between different locations. It also means there is no gap in supervision — someone responsible is always present.

How to Enrol

After-school care is available as a monthly or termly arrangement. If you are interested, simply speak with our admin team at the front desk or mention it during your admission meeting. We will confirm whether your child's schedule and pickup time can be accommodated.
