Our First-Ever Interhouse Sports Competition is Coming!

Something exciting is happening at Johnethel School — our very first Interhouse Sports Competition is just around the corner, and the energy on campus is unlike anything we've seen before.

For the first time in our school's history, our students will compete not just as individuals, but as members of a house — representing their colours, their teammates, and their school pride. This is a milestone moment for Johnethel, and we could not be more excited to share it with our entire school family.

The Four Houses

Our students and pupils have been assigned to one of four houses, each represented by a colour:

🔴 Red House 🔵 Blue House 🟢 Green House 🟡 Yellow House

Each house has been building its identity — its chants, its spirit, and its determination to win. The friendly rivalry between houses is already in full swing, and the excitement in the classrooms and corridors is palpable.

Rehearsals Have Begun

Our students have thrown themselves into preparations with tremendous enthusiasm. Rehearsals are already underway — from march-past drills to athletic event trials — and the level of energy and commitment from our pupils has been truly impressive.

Watching our youngest pupils line up and practise their march-past with such seriousness and pride has been one of the highlights of this term so far. Our older students are equally fired up, bringing leadership and competitive spirit that is inspiring to see.

Balancing Sports and Studies

We are fully aware that this is a busy period academically. Examinations are fast approaching, and we want to reassure parents that our approach to interhouse preparations has been deliberate and balanced.

Rehearsals are scheduled carefully so as not to disrupt core learning hours. Our teachers are ensuring that academic work remains on track, and students are being encouraged to bring the same focus and discipline they show on the field into their revision and classwork.

We believe that the skills being built through this competition — teamwork, resilience, time management, and perseverance — are the very same skills that will serve our students well in their exams and beyond.
